Caption: What a difference a year makes! Last year at this time, we were getting two 5-gallon buckets of water delivered for over six weeks, until we decided to relocate to this chanting botanical garden. That’s what happens when a community well in the highland jungles of Nicaragua runs dry. Water is precious. #waterislife 🌨
Today we got our first water truck delivery to refill our rainwater tanks at the bee sanctuary. We are lucky to get a trickle of water once a week when the aqueduct flows. We are one of the neighborhoods that gets cut off from aqueduct water, which we rely on once the rainwater stops. 🚰
It’s dry season now, only a few rainshowers in the last month. A reminder of how grateful we are to have regular running water. 💦
Of course, we take solar showers which feed our grey water system. A bath isn’t a really something I do. But they do look luxurious and relaxing. 🚿
But our solar-heated showers feed our grey water system. To learn how you can have a #rainbowfood life and #growyourgreensmoothie take our #permaculture course. Link in bio👆🏼
