The gibbons (howler monkeys 🐒 🐵) were pretty close today. The alpha was at the center top of the green tree canopy doing his growl lookout thang. Lower down there are several others. When they turned this direction in the sun, their bright faces say Hello! I enjoy hearing them sing at night and whoop during the day. #howlermonkeys #gibbon #siamang #siamanggibbon #slowlife #resilience #permaculture #nicaragua #throughbinoculars

"To think like a watershed, we've got to move from the Drain-Age, designs that desiccate, dehydrate, and degrade – into the Retain-Age, a restorative, reverential relationship to rehydration." ~ Brock Dolman on Basins of Relations Get our Permaculture video series (Pay What You Wish) 18+ hours with leaders of the regenerative movement. (This post's theme song is "Dear Theodosia" from Hamilton the Musical) You are alive! You are awake! Be good! Be true! Be beautiful! Be yourself! ~Tiffany Renée (me) ❤ I placed this by the door when my daughters were little, where it's been ever since. In my grandmother's house our door message was "A winner never quits. And a quitter never wins." It's also on my dad's headstone. I wanted my own message of resilience to come from these loving and soulful eternal qualities as a reminder each time they left the house. ❤#inspirationalquotes #truth #beauty #goodness #soul #consciousness #permaculture #zone0 #slowlife #nicaragua #parenting #parenthood #deartheodosia

My Grandma Bea taught me to sew. I had heartache not bringing her Bernina with me. It was too heavy to fly. I bought a little machine down here to do hems, like these curtains. I feel close to her when I sew. I'm not good, but I can get the job done. Grateful for the skills. But I wish had done more to teach my daughters home skills. I felt it would limit their horizons, feminize them too much. But now I understand that home skills make us more resilient and self-reliant. #permaculture #skills #sewing #feminism #fashion #homedecor #homeeconomics #homesteading #slowlife #nicaragua
